I was a sales professional selling IT security software to the government. Sequestration and the downward economy led to a reduction in force at my company and my job was impacted. Two days later, my wife was diagnosed with an advanced stage of cancer. They say that things happen for a reason and I am now a firm believer. Losing my job allowed me the time to care for my wife and become her patient advocate. In between chemotherapy sessions, PET scans, CAT scans, and other tests I interviewed for jobs and took care of two teenage daughters while my wife focused on her recovery. Through this process I documented results and notes from each doctor appointment and chemotherapy session ensuring each doctor knew what another doctor had prescribed or advised - all to try and make sure my wife was receiving the best care possible. In between care taking and job interviews, I found myself running errands for family members who were too busy and started taking care of their pets and doing a myriad of services. I realized that I really enjoy these types of tasks and was dependable and good at it! I decided I wanted to do this full time. In 2013, Caring Hands Personal Assistant services was conceived! Fortunately and God willing, my wife is now in remission and has returned to work and I am ready to provide service to others.
